Tonight, the 5th Novi Sad Theatre Festival opened in Novi Sad with the performance On the Wolf’s Trail, directed by Jakub Maksimov and masterfully performed by the actors of the Youth Theatre: Saša Latinović, Slavica Vučetić, Slobodan Ninković, Jelica Gligorin, Dejan Šarković, Neda Danilović, and Aleksa Ilić.
The passion and dedication with which they perform this production continue to send chills down the audience’s spine time and again. The audience recognizes this and rewards it with applause that speaks many languages — including some of those spoken by this year’s festival guests.
Before the performance, the audience and guests were welcomed by the director of the Youth Theatre, Sergej Tamaš, who officially opened the festival. He highlighted the strengths of On the Wolf’s Trail, thanked the festival’s supporters — the City of Novi Sad — and expressed hope that reconstruction work on the theatre’s Main Stage, which has been closed for safety reasons for the past year, will begin soon.
Tomorrow, May 8, the festival proceeds with competition program.
